A website can only show you so much
Photographs of the campus, pupils and classrooms offer a helpful introduction, yet they cannot answer the question that matters most to parents: will my child feel at home here?
That answer is found in the finer details. The courtesy of pupils who greet visitors as they pass. Teachers who know every child by name, including the quieter ones. The questions your child begins to ask on the journey home.
An Open Afternoon allows you to observe all of this first-hand.

Llandovery College has educated children in the Tywi valley since 1848 and has never selected its pupils by entrance examination. Each child is welcomed as they are, and their success is measured by the progress they make. This is difficult to convey on a web page, yet it becomes immediately clear in person.
Your child is warmly invited to attend. There is no assessment at the end of the afternoon, so they are free to relax and be themselves.

Our Programmes
Gollop Prep School
(Ages 3 to 11)
The Gollop Prep School delivers early years and primary education on our main campus. Small class sizes, outdoor forest school learning, and structured English-medium teaching create a nurturing environment. Welsh lessons begin at age 3, instilling an early appreciation for language and local heritage while establishing strong foundational skills in literacy and numeracy.
Senior School
(Ages 11 to 16)
Our Senior School offers a broad, engaging curriculum within a non-selective, supportive environment. Pupils receive close academic mentoring, participate in dynamic co-curricular activities, and prepare thoroughly for GCSE examinations with tailored individual guidance.
Sixth Form
(Ages 16 to 18)
The Sixth Form marks the transition into higher education and professional life. Students enjoy greater independence, specialized subject choices across A Levels and BTECs, and dedicated UCAS and career coaching within a close-knit pre-university setting.
